Exploring impact of design on our future(s)

What impact does design have on our future? The exhibition Future is! invites us to broaden our understanding of what design is and what impact it can have on our society beyond commercial benefits.

Selected projects successfully react on challenges of inclusion and resilience or conscious use of latest tech advancements – many of them integrating even more aspects at once.

Ranging from future foresight to realistic, tangible interventions, authors of all featured projects work in mission-oriented ways, using design’s abilities to tell stories, reach an understanding, create connections or provide answers.

We were invited to provide a selection of projects in the three preferred areas by Jitka Smolíková and Ondřej Staněk, exhibition producers and authors of the exhibition concept. Future is!, as the main exhibition of Zlín Design Week 2024 at the Zlín Castle, was accompanied by several youth outreach workshops as a part of the event.
