Phygital×
Mapping approaches to phygital product design
What do birdhouses, vases and Prague subway have in common? The PHYGITAL× installation explores the overlap between „physical“ and „digital“ design. At Designblok 2024, we are presenting doctoral and master’s projects of Bratislava’s MX lab.
The MX lab at the Slovak University of Technology conducts multidisciplinary research in the field of experiential design. In their projects, the presented authors explore the disappearing boundaries between the digital and physical worlds. Seemingly unrelated topics meet in the installation: subjective perception of time, designing with the support of artificial intelligence, materializing digital aesthetics or interspecies design.
You can visit the work of STU students and researchers at two locations: the main part of the installation will be presented as part of the school section at Bastion Florenc (Křižíkova 2A, Prague 8) and the project of graduate student Adam Trup will be part of the Designblok Talent Cards selection at UPM Prague (17 November 2/2 , Prague 1).
The exhibition system used in the PHYGITAL× installation follows up on the travelling exhibition project DESIGN × SCIENCE, realized with the support of public funding by Slovak Arts Council.
